Porn-Proofing Your Child

Porn. Even typing the word feels icky and scary at the same time. However touchy the topic is, it is one that must be addressed. I recently listened to a podcast that claimed a child needs to have the "porn talk" as soon as they have access to the internet at their fingertips. WHAT?? At first that seemed overwhelming and ridiculous to me; however, it's a sad truth that our kiddos are growing up in a society where sick predators are constantly finding ways to throw this information in their face. That is why it is essential that we are intentional in training our kiddos to guard themselves against these things, and how to handle it WHEN (not if) they are confronted with porn.

Resources:

Check out the podcast below to listen to a great conversation about this scary topic. The guest on this podcast even wrote two books to read with (YES, WITH!) your child about porn. I have attached links to those books at the end of this months post as well.

Literature:

The link below leads to a website designed to guide parents through having the porn talk with their children. You can find the book, Good Pictures Bad Pictures here as well as on Amazon.

Not sure your child is quite ready for that book, check on Good Pictures Bad Pictures Jr (also sold on Amazon).
