Who am I?
Hello all! I am, Randi Lee Clayton, and I am in my second year as the K-12 school counselor at Marion County R-II School District. Currently, I am seeking my masters degree through Missouri Baptist University. Prior to counseling, I taught sixth grade English language arts at Palmyra Middle School and coached Jr. High Basketball. Last year at Marion County, I had the opportunity to coach Varsity Girls Basketball.
Additionally, in February of last year, my husband Joe and I were blessed with a baby boy, Elam Douglas. I love basketball but have decided to take some time away from the game and focus on raising our boy.
This year will be my first year as the Varsity Girls and Boys Track coach and the sponsor for Fellow Christian Athletes and the MCR-II Character Team.
Aside from spending time at school and with my family, I am an active member and youth group leader at Nelsonville Assembly of God. I also enjoy reading books, cheering on Duke with my husband, and all things Harry Potter.
What I do!
Who am I? And what do I do for you, your child, and MCR-II? As the school counselor, I plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP). Preparing students to be successful, contributing citizens of society through social, emotional, and academic support is the mission of the CSCP at Marion County. As the school counselor, I work with students in whole-group, small group, and individual settings to ensure equitable access to resources for every single student. As a professional school counselor, my goal is to inspire an attitude of lifelong learning and confidence into the students that I serve. Supporting the social, emotional, and academic needs and ambitions of my students is a priority that will guide my daily work. Through partnerships and cooperation with students, teachers, families, and the community, we can ensure that each student receives the quality and individualized education to best help them succeed in school and in life.
